Underlayment material

Hello, I was priming the floor underlayment for SLC leveling and noticed a little bit of a small section of a layer lifting in the CDX plywood cut edge. I can't recall if it was already there before or it happened after installation. I am a bit concerned that it would continue to deform. I thought it was the right material to use when I googled it. Now I dug in deeper came across articles that CDX is not suited for bathroom due to moisture and that OSB, and BCX are the preferred choice for wet areas. While some says CDX is what's acceptable for a two floor system (no idea what that means).

Just for my understanding as I could be working on more remodeling project in the future, which material is the right material to use for bathroom remodeling? And am I going to be okay for now? I am going to nail down a layer of 1/4" durock (not laminate) before tiling.

Thanks!

Annie

What part of the country do you live Annie? I'm in Northern California, roughly the same area as Isaac. I'm glad to see other women in this forum, thought I was the only one. :D
