first shower attemp.
Newbie here installing 1st tile shower on concrete, 47"x 42" shower with 1 angled corner. Please help with suggestions on my plan.
I Already have the old style 3 piece weep hole drain in place after watching Isacs flofx drain video Ive ordered the flow fx drain and will use the adapter to go into my 3 piece drain.
Plan to build dry pack base per Isacs video using multi max light as a thin set between concrete and mud base.
Installing Geo board above mud base covering walls
Install 5" No flow banding between mud base joints and Geo board (from flow fx) also on Geo board seams.
Use No flow corner combo kit for inside and outside corners (from Flow fx)
2 coats of Hydro Ban for sealer.
Use multi max light for tile setting. any suggestions would be appreciated. Should I use Perma board in place of the expensive Geo board? also is 1 gallon of Hydro Ban enough for this shower? Do I need some type of membrane on mud pan? (If so would It would need to be spliced with the size shower I have not found a 1 piece large enough in my search and looking like the membrane is costly). Thank you!
I would recommend a difffernt thinset than multi max lite, just because it is messy. Maybe Laticrete 254 Platinum or Schluter All-Set. Also, Go Board is good so is Sentinel Board
