How would I support the tiles when setting above the full width niche?
I used a ledger board on the wall below the niche and I have my tile up to the top of the niche, minus the niche roof. The front edge of the roof of the niche will have the same quaddec trim that the sill has.
On sill, I was able to use leveling clips to crank down the trim (it was slightly bowed out,) but that was because there was wall tile on which I could set the clips. I was thinking that if I set the 3 roof tiles on the niche and the leading edge trim, then the trim itself could become the ledger for the tile up the rest of the wall once it sets.
Logical Questions:
What challenges will I face tiling the roof of the niche...I mean...you know, gravity. Will I need to fashion some sort of support to hold them up? Something high tech, like scrap lumber?
Once the roof of the niche is set with the trim in place, if I use the trim as a ledger, will it support the weight of the rest of the layout, or should I set the first row and let it cure before continuing with the rest of the wall?

That's exactly the same conclusion I came to. ;). Fortunately, I floated my niche roof perfectly level and flat, so that solution will work.
