Trowel size with RLS leveling
I am using a 12 x 24 3/8" porcelain tile. For the floor I am using RLS leveling system. I am using a 1/2 x 1/2 trowel with laticrete LHT plus. I am noticing that the RLS system raises the tile slightly and I am concerned about thinset coverage on the tile. I haven't been back buttering as I saw that Isacc doesn't. Wondering if I should trowel ridges on the back of the tile or just back butter?
Part of my challenge is I think I mixed the first batch of thinset too wet so the ridges don't stand up well.
For the wall I am using leave in T spacers that do not raise the tile like the RLS system.

We always backbutter when using clips with large tiles. You are correct, they slightly raise the tiles so they need a backbutter.
