Waterproofing a freestanding tub drain?
So I am installing a free standing tub drain which is not anywhere near the shower. The drain and tile will be installed on cement board. Should I cover the drain with Kerdi fiber and/or ardek 8+9? I watched Isaac’s video on installing a tub drain part 1 and 2 but it didn’t show the tile going in.

I wouldn’t worry about it if it’s not near the shower.
