Compression Drain - Redi Your Way Pan

Tile Redi pan arrived today. For the compression drain, I don't see any instructions, but Isaac touched on it in his video "fastest pan". I have the abs drainpipe extended up out of the floor.

I think the drain install steps are:

  1. cut the pipe below the caulking ring (name Isaac gives the brass fitting the caulking nut turns)

  2. slip the rubber sleeve over the pipe

  3. Tighten the ring using the caulking nut with screwdriver - hand tight

Q1: I want to confirm that where I cut the drainpipe. I believe it is just below the upper most threads of the brass caulking ring, so that when I place the sleeve over it, I can turn the nut down and squeeze compression seal. Is this correct?

Q2: Do you let the thin set under the pan cure for a day before cutting the pipe and tightening the compression drain or do you do it while thin set is still wet? I couldn't tell in video if you came back and did the drain later.

Q3: Tile Redi instructions for the tile able drain grate say to use adhesive to attach the tiles to the grate. Do you grout the grout joints of the tiles stuck on the grate? It doesn't mention grout in the instructions.

Thanks!

Maybe this is obvious but I didn't see anything on it.... do not remove the chain from pipe balloon. When you deflate....the balloon exits down the pipe like it is on a mission. Next time I'll hold on to that chain :)
