Hardie backer board assembly questions
Hi There,
I am setting the backer board and have a few questions:
Is it okay for the hardie backer edge to be flushed to the stud, r do I also need 1/8" of space between stud to board edge (see attached)
On hardie backer instruction video, it says to screw the nail 2" in from sheet corners. But its quite impossible unless I double the studs. What should I do?
When I started applying the screws I noticed the board started to be out of level vertically. It was leveled before. I wonder if it is normal for this to happen when you start setting the screws. I can apply the nails throughout the full sheet and see if it will be back to level. But if for any reason I need to remove the board and apply thin set to wet shim, is it okay to reattach screws in the same position? Not sure will that still be secure or will it be less secure. If I cannot reattach through the same holes, should I can attach the screws an inch away? What do I do with the holes?
