Schluter pan and deck mud?
Hello. I am a beginner. I installed my schluter pan and did my best to fur out the walls and make square to 90 degrees. Unfortunately I noticed my footers aren't exactly 90 so I couldn't get an exact 90 which leaves me to have gaps along side the pan. I saw schluters video that says to extend the tray with dry pack mortar?
My question is, is this sakrete sand mix considered dry pack? If so how can I let it cure when the instructions say to keep it moist for 72 hours with a plastic cover on it? But then I would have to keep spraying that area to prevent it from drying out early and the foam pan itself and the walls where the tile will go would constantly be most? I wouldn't want water to trickle under the pan or behind the walls.
Also I was told to just use backer rod and use a polyurethane sealant on top to fill the gaps which im not too sure about that. Also will the dry pack break away from the foam pan and cause a hairline fracture?
Thanks for your time

I would just fill with stiff thinset before you install the banding
