So the Kerdi drain is already installed with thinset for the “no access” option. The question I have is how to finish the tray/drain install to eliminate the documented failure of the Kerdi fabric & thinset around the drain. If I cover the pan with waterproof membrane per Schluter’s instructions….and then cover the entire pan with liquid hydroban, will that negate the fabric failure of the Kerdi drain? Not concerned with maintaining the Schluter warranty, just want to ensure the Kerdi drain failure won’t damage my house! What have you guys done to waterproof this known Kerdi drain issue? Thanks for any help.
