Not tile related but I overcame a blocker to the tile...

(just expressing gratitude and sharing my trials and tribulations for maybe commiseration or if someone else is dealing with the same issues)
Context: I am remodeling a bathroom in my basement. I am going to tile the shower but I keep finding other issues to fix. I had a pipe out to a hose bibb/silcock/spigot burst and actually cut a hole through the drywall ceiling I had not ripped out. Well thanks to the fact that I had acquired materials and knowledge already I was able to even overcome a strange issue.
I used rapid set mortar to set the spigot as the reclaimed brick that lines the lower part of my house was possibly a hundred years old when the house was built in 1978. Thanks Issac for showing how to use that stuff to set a drain, it worked to secure the spigot to the brick façade.
I soldered a PEX - A adapter and managed to acquire a great frost proof outdoor hydrant (that is a new term for the same thing I learned) with a PEX A connection.
Anyway I have some more wiring to do and then I can put the ceiling back in and rest of the cement board.
It's definitely a lot easier to flow solder with a soldering iron but I'm old enough to remember when we had the lead solder which was really easy to work with and when we went all RoHS and got rid of the lead the solder does not flow nearly as well and it takes a lot more heat. Lead-free solder is also a lot harder to reflow. I'm speaking from electronics experience not plumbing so there's that but it's the same stuff.
