Glad I found The TileCoach
I felt I was finally to the point where I had watched enough videos and was ready to start my shower tear down and rebuild. Unfortunately I stopped at Home Depot where I met a very nice, older gentleman working in the tile department. He said he had been a tile installer for the past 20 years. I figured I'd throw him a few questions I had after watching videos by Issac, Sal and others. He didn't have a clue as to what I was talking about and began speaking over me, explaining the "correct techniques". I listened politely. When he was done I was completely confused. I had to go back and watch the TileCoach videos all over again to regain my confidence. It's amazing how fast things are changing in the world of tile installation. I started out on this project thinking I would do a pre slope with a vinyl sheet and then another dry pack on top of that. Thanks to the TileCoach, I'm looking at a single slope, topped with Kerdi cloth. Be careful about asking old contractors for advice. It seems more often than not, as we learn a trade, we become set in our ways and find it's easier to shut someone down than to listen and possibly learn. At 75 I consider myself a lifetime learner and try to remain open to better and easier ways of doing thing. That's what I like about Issac and his crew, they’re not afraid to listen, learn and explore. Thank you guys. I’d be lost without you.

Thanks Doug! Glad to have you here
