Not sure I’d use Schluter again
Just finished with the banding and I must say it's exhausting getting all the excess thinset out so excessive build up doesn't occur. I know I have some in the corners and sides of the niche. Not looking forward to grinding the back of those tiles so I can maintain plumbness of the walls.

I am with you richard! I will for now on only use kerdi membrane on the shower floor. i will never use it again on the walls its to exhausting i agree and using only laticrete hydro ban on the walls 3 coats and i think that will be justified and be just fine maybe kerdi around the niches but with me itll be foam board from either kerdi or floor and decor, with kerdi fix on the seams and roll on with it ...
