General Tile Discussion

From research I believe most installers recommend using a flat smooth surface for the top of the curb. (Either tile or stone) I understand that it make the glass installers job much easier. I have only seen 1 or 2 pictures where flat pebbles were used and those pictures didn’t have a glass enclosure. Our shower floor will be flat pebbles and my wife is really wanting the pebbles on the curb also. Besides making the glass installers job more difficult, is there any other compelling reason I shouldn’t use them for the curb? I would apply them individually in a very tight configuration and make sure the perimeter of curb was level with the standard slop inwards to the shower.
