Shower/Bathroom Project -- new member!

Wanting to tile this out! 1 -- I'm going to start with the dry area wall -- to the right.

Can I simply install Kerdi over the painted drywall (2 year old house)? Can I tile right down to the baseboard?

2 -- After that, tile above the shower! (Remove drywall, install fiber cement board, etc).

So excited to tackle this. How would you go about it?

PS -- I've been watching Isaac for years! Just completely in love with the channel. I've been severely impacted by mold in personal houses I've lived in, with devastating health consequences. So now I'm obsessed with waterproofing showers, and I've fallen in love with all things showers/tiling, TileCoach channel has been amazing.

I'm wanting to start tiling showers in houses I build -- because it's so hard to find quality tile contractors in my area, but wanting to start with my own bathroom for practice. Isaac, you're such a blessing to me, and I really appreciate it.

Thanks a bunch, Bryan. Is it always necessary to lay out your tile somewhere on the floor/ground before tiling up?
