placement of the shower head recepticle.
So I wish you had a search function on your discussion board. I'm sure this has been answered before... that little pex mount point nub that the shower head screws into. How far back from the face of the studs does that thing go?

Usually as long as it is flush or recessed from the face of the stud it is fine. Then use appropriate size pipe nipple
