FloFx Shower Drain Grate Corrosion.
This is more of a caution than an issue with FloFx. When I received my FloFx drain I was excited to see my shiny, new, brushed nickle drain grate and removed it from it's protective plastic wrap. I then set it back in the prtially open box and got about the business of laying tile. I don't remember exactly what happened to it after that but at some point in it's journey it got splashed with a bit of thinset. Probably when I was cleaning the tile. After the drain was set and the tile in place, I wanted to see what it would look like. Except for a smudge of grime on the surface, it looked great. I attempted to clean it up with soap and water but found the smudge to be resistant to cleaning. Upon closer inspection I could see that the splash of thinset had actually eaten through the finish, into the aluminum. Fortunately I was able to contact Chase at FloFx and he offered to send me a new one. It was my fault for being careless but I had no idea thinset, even diluted thinse, was so corrosive.

I have to remember to wipe down door knobs. My hands always have a little residue on them.
