Some old school pics!
Wish I had more of my early tile pics from when I was installing a lot of tile. Hard to believe I have had my tile business for 20 years now!
But here are a few from around 2010 on a job I took a lot of care and pride in. I spoke with the homeowner last year when I was in the same neighborhood in Curtis Park, Sacramento. He said everything still looks great, no cracked grout or anything. I will probably start doing some video features of my early work, going back and inspecting my old jobs. Hopefully there aren't any "I Tiled this Shower 20 Years Ago and IT FAILED" videos coming...haha.
This shower was a one coat float over greenboard and hot mop. We used Aquabar paper and chicken wire in the float. No nails in the wire, just staples. Also, no topical waterproofing in the niches or pony wall caps.
Tile is porcelain and Oceanside paper faced glass mosaic.

Nice! I’d love to see more old pics!
