General Tile Discussion

Mostly for accountability...I shall make an update post by Sunday showing progress.

To be fair we had an inground pool built and a year after they broke ground the landscaping was able to be started. It was mostly done by contractors but I ran the wires and plumbing for the underground irrigation because I wanted the control box in my garage. I replaced a couple of hose bibbs / spigots / outdoor faucets. I did quite a bit of other landscape projects but mainly tended to the new sod which is growing a couple inches a week so I am cutting it and bagging it often. I wish I could send some of this rain out West. I have two walls to finish furring out and have the shims cut and ready so after work today (I'm a DIYer, not a pro) I am going to finish putting the hardi backer up (I am just going to do Kerdi or Wedi in the future for the rest of the bathrooms in my house) and then float the pan and it feels like it is downhill from there.

Where I am at as of July 19, 2022...(google photos link) What I have been doing if curious...(google photos link) (all of the stones in the borders were pulled out of my yard when stripping the sod or when I put in a massive French drain. My house sits in an ancient glacial moraine) Seen, in no particular order 1. I added a breaker and outlet to the subpanel for my pool so we could have lights. 2. I ripped out a paver planter and reused the pavers around the pool equipment and made a little garden for my wife. She loved it. 3. It was handy to have the ceiling ripped out in the basement bath. I ran the sprinkler control wire and prewired for an electric car charger because that is inevitable.
