General Tile Discussion

Hello everyone,

I am approaching tile time for a basement bathroom. Both the floor (on a leveled slab) and shower walls (RSS board) will have 12" X 24" porcelain tile (different manufacturers). One of the tiles has overlap instructions showing not to do 50%, only max 33% overlap. The other box has no such instructions. My understanding about the overlap restrictions has to do with bowing during the manufacturing process. However, for both these tiles I took several pairs and held them face to face and there is no bowing at all. Can I ignore the 50% overlap warning, or am I asking for trouble?

Note: using Ardex X77 thinset, a leveling system TBD, and Spectralock 1 grout.
