Cutting large format tiles

I wanted to see how people are cutting large format tiles (ex 24 x 48). I finally got around to cutting the large tile for applying to my fireplace. Having the Dewalt 36000 I used two methods to do rip cuts along the 48" length. The first was doing a plunge cut from the back for about 16" of the length and then flipping the tile and continuing the cut. The other was using a 1/2" of Kerdi board to raise the tile and using a framing triangle to try and keep it square to the table. I found using the plunge cut approach easier to do repeatable cuts. For the other approach I had cuts differ by 1/8"-1/4" between ends.

Finally got all the main cuts completed cleanly I felt I'd spent the day doing CrossFit. I'll set the tiles next weekend.

We use a combo of the 36000 and a hand grinder for most jobs. I also have a 59" Imer bridge saw but it is so big to transport and set up we only use it if we really need it.
