Master Shower Floor - Complete Replacement
I’m new to the TileCoach platform and way impressed with the knowledge base here and want to test the waters on an upcoming project that includes two SECOND FLOOR bathrooms with two separate objectives;
1) Master Shower Floor (complete replacement)
2) Guest Bath (replace floor tile). Both were completed by another contractor 18 months.
This post is about the Master Shower Floor.
Because the drain was set too high (water settles around drain), tile pieces popping out, etc., I was contacted to completely replace the shower floor down to the joist's. I have complete discretion in size/type of tile and drain replacement selection. I will remove the glass shower wall.

I haven't been in contact with the archictect or designer, but, I've done some researching and I've come to think that what caused the voids/bubbles to appear behind the tile might just be stress from the angle of the curved wall being too sharp, causing too much tension since glass doesn't give much at all, and the bond between the thin set and tile failing under so much stress. What do you think of that hypothesis?
