Shower Waterproofing

Hi everyone,

I hope y'all can give some insight into this. We're planning on floating our walls over densshield or an equivalent cementicious backer board. A presloped pan with a schulter curb because of the ease of its production. How/can we waterproof the curb without using a sheet membrane? Hoping to use hydroban to waterproof the pan and walls, but the transition to the curb seems awkward.

Could we use a small section of sheet membrane to waterproof the curb and then hydroban over the pan and curb/sheet membrane? If there's a good video on this that anyone had seen, please link it. My partner and I have both watched hours of tile videos from Issac and others. Might the case that we just can't remember. Thanks for your help :)
