Is my Snap and score cutter normal or damaged?

I bought my first snap and score cutter for a bathroom I am doing. It is a Rubi 24" speed magnet. It works great but has an issue that is making it difficult to make really precise cuts. The metal ridge down the center of the cutter is not flat from one end to the other. It is low at each end and arcs to a peak in the middle. If I put a straight edge on the ridge, I can fit a 1/32" shim under each end of the straight edge while the straight edge just touches the ridge at its center point. Is this normal? The hump is making it difficult to place a 24" tile in it and keep it from moving/shifting as I score the tile. Thanks, Roger

Not all tiles are good for snap cutters. Some tiles just do not snap well. In particuar american factory Dal Tile porcelian.

wet shimming to a wall not plumb

I need to apply tile backer board to a solid wall that isnt plumb. Can cement board be wet shimmed to something like that?

Got Pics?. Solid wall? Like block or concrete? You may just have to float it. Wood studs? I would look into sistering or maybe'built with foam' shims.

Tile Redi - Flo FX compatibility

I just ordered a custom pan from Tile redi waiting on my drawings for me to sign off on i got there new square drain with this one. (Used the tile couch coupon code)

Was watching your latest tile ready pan video and notice you said the new square drain fits the flo fx drain grates. How is is this accomplished since there drain is made into the pan.

do you need the Flow FX grate carrier to bond to the pan or something else?

You can install a Flofx grate directly into the Tile Redi grate carrier. But I usually use the flofx carrier instead, since I have some extras laying around from kits that we used the Tile In grate on. The FloFX carrier will fit, but it is pretty tight and you kind of have to tap it in to get it into the Tile Redi recess. The FloFx grates fit a little better into their own carrier.

I have a few FloFX carriers if you want me to send you one. If you order a grate from my store, just leave a note to include a carrier as well. You will need to use the Tile Redi shims because I don't have any extra shims.
