Bathroom Tile Layout, Floor & Wall

Hi everyone.., Q: Floor, & Wall Tile layout, what is best, using 12 x 24 porcelain tile, with 2"x 2" square mosaic on shower floor. Options, staggered 50% offset, or 30% offset, Vertical, Horizontal, Stacked Vert, or Horizontal..., is there pros & cons to any of these Tile layout patterns, & when mating to the wall tiles do you use the same layout, what is the preferred way, & why...??

Typical install is horizontal. Most manufacturers require no more than a 30% offset to prevent lippage but it kind of depends on the tile and how flat they are to see what you can get away with. Offset tile I’d say, is more traditional while stacked is more modern. Vertical is a bit of a bold statement but can definitely look good. So it really depends on what your aesthetic is. Are you going to be doing any accent strips?

Floor tiles should be stack pattern and independent of what ever you decide for the walls.
