Laundry room Drain
We are redoing a master bath and laundry hallway closet (that also has our water heater).
What we are wondering is if we need to/should install a drain in the laundry room floor for the inevitable flood from a water heater or washer and what the best method is. If we did a drain, I assume we need to slope the floor since the drain would be practically useless without direction for water flow. Is this correct since technically it isn’t an area we are getting wet everyday?
Is there a super low profile drain that could be installed so that we don’t have to put a big curb on the floor transition into the hallway?
We have a plywood subfloor and a crawl space with full access to plumbing.
The rough opening of the laundry “closet” measures 8’ Wide x 36” deep.
thanks in advance.

This is the drain you want right here. I wouldn't worry about slope as long its not sloping AWAY from the drain it should work in case of an emergency flood. https://www.schluter.com/schluter-us/en_US/Shower-System/Drains/Floor-Drains/Schluter%C2%AE-KERDI-DRAIN-F/p/KERDI_DRAIN-F
