outside corner transition drywall <-> hardie

I'm going to have the tile come out to the edge of this outside corner and trim it with a Schluter strip so the strip is flush with the front wall ~

But what's the best way to prep a corner like this? I'd cut the Hardie backer to come flush with the front of the wall. I'm trying to decide between:

using a big stick plastic outside drywall corner bead going over the drywall and the Hardie, mud the drywall side and thinset the Hardie side~ but not sure thinset will work well for that

or

prefill the gap, tape and mud right up to the edge of the Hardie backer like I would fill a gap elsewhere

how do the tile pros do it?

Either way is fine. I would prefer to finish my schluter maybe 1/16"-1/8" proud of the corner and then flat tape and mud/texture to the schluter. Leaves a really nice finish with no grout.
