My shower project

Hope this is allowed. Thought I would make a thread and keep updating it with my shower project. Had a nightmare contractor episode. He actually had the shower tiled and it was terrible. Every tile had lippage, it was terrible. Here is a link to pics of his job. https://imgur.com/a/KgZWWSB

It was so bad I ripped everything out and I'm starting from scratch. I took the plaster off the walls and went right to the studs (which I guess he should have done). I got someone in to do the frame and I'm doing the rest of the bathroom. I figure I can mess it up good as anyone, lol.

So here are some pics of my job so far. The shower frame is what the new contractors did. I put up some Hardi backer today and showing off my new Rigid 8 inch tile saw. I'm learning how to use it. Trying to learn how to miter without chips. Getting the hang of it.

Going to use Kerdi membrane on the Hardi backer and a kerdi Shower pan with a 32 inch Linear drain. Also have a kerdi bench in there.

EDIT: thought I would edit in here- the shower isn't actually raised, nor is that a slope, that is how out of level the floor is in this 150+ year old house. The shower is actually perfectly level. gonna fix the rest of the floor before the bathroom is done. now I'm just worried about having the shower floor level. Suggestions for leveling the floor are accepted :-)

And yes, my tile saw is set up in my kitchen!! 😂
